Similar to the musical processing of a “remix”, Kunibert Fritz and his son J.D. Fritz reformulated outstanding images or "series of studies" of his work. They were updated on a technical, formal and content level. The material, the size or the structures have been changed. Techniques such as digital printing, 3D animation and film are used, sometimes images are combined with one another and new social, philosophical and scientific questions are asked. This procedure could be described as "rework". The work “Central Pervasion” refers to a series of pictures that were created in the 1960s.

Questions are, for example: How can the difference between reality and actuality be experienced? Are subject and object connected? Does actuality even have more effect than that it is materially visible in the form of a thing-like reality? These and other questions are discussed using a single geometric shape, the square. If we assume that visual art, like music, is a direct exchange of information and emotion, then constructive art in particular has the ability to encode this in a special, abstract way. The specific project "Central Pervasion" is about expanding the reception of the image in space and time and showing that reality is always subjective. Actuality, on the other hand, is essentially an idea, i.e. vibration information. In order to approach a higher level of reality, to pervade reality, so to speak, we have to go into a meditative state. A film was made for the project, which thematizes this very contemplatively and is supplemented by four new “Central Pervasion” images.

In his writings on art theory, Piet Mondrian formulated the idea of ​​bringing about a synthesis of spirit and matter through a harmony of visual language, which is equivalent to a universal idea. He was always a great role model for Kunibert Fritz.

The structure of the artistic work of Kunibert Fritz basically consists of the demonstration of opposites, which should come to a balance, i.e. what is called equilibrium. The square serves as an elementary particle.

Today, matter is calculated like a point in computer forecasting. So a description of what is, based on a coordinate system. Kunibert Fritz remains true to this to this day, as if he had always suspected that the universe inside is based on a square grid.

 

Kunibert Fritz makes no statement on this. The artist merely refers to a book that I have always noticed near him. "The path and the right way of LAO-TSE" (The Chinese original thought by Alexander Ular, Insel Verlag 1912)

 

The first saying is:

“The path of the pathways is not the everyday path;

The name of the names is not the everyday name.

Unnamability is the essence of everything everywhere;

Namability is the becoming of the individual.
